Hen House fans let me introduce you to a brand new magazine that will be premiering next month!You are in the know before the rest of the world!Please look for it on your news-stand in your local grocery store or book shop.The gorgeous Fifi O’Neill has produced a book on Prairie Style last year and is in the process of publishing a PRAIRIE STYLE COOKBOOK.From these two books the idea of a magazine evolved………..and VIOLA we will now have another magazine to add to our repertoire that we will all adore!I might add my regal white rooster has made the premiere issue in all his glory, or so I am told but one never knows what can happen before the presses start rolling.Fingers crossed IL PAPA of the HEN HOUSE at home will make the cut.

Behold…..Opera at the HEN HOUSE for your viewing pleasure.A vision like no other.This definitely will not be for sale………..so, do not even ask!It consists of four panels.It looked beyond fabulous in my living room on Christmas Eve.It’s a pity the Baronessa,Principessa and Danville Diva could not join me for a KIR ROYAL.But then again I was busy that eve………..I had family  to adore.Now I have brought the Opera panels to the shop for all to see.Hope your close enough to pop over.Believe me it is a vision to behold.Took my breath away……………..thank goodness I had a dream about it!Thank goodness I had the nerve to ask about it!Just no telling what can happen when one inquires!There are some VERY kind people in my life.I’m so grateful to you the Giver of this great masterpiece and the gorgeous Courier who transported.I thank you from the bottom of my heart.xoxox

Hen House says HAPPY NEW YEAR to all of you out there in cyberspace.Hope you all enjoyed family and friends and perhaps some well needed down time.I certainly did.The shop has been closed and I have been thinking about my next plan of action!A few road trips to hunt and gather for your viewing pleasure.Think I will take off soon to find some crusty,worn,cracked pieces for the little building that sways………those of you that frequent the shop know what I mean.The floor has a bit of a tilt to it from age.The building was erected in the 1800s……..I have a photo of it from 1901.The facade looks just about the same a hundred plus years but instead of selling antiques and vintage finds the little house sold cigars and ice cream!What a combination!Just hope she remains standing for another few years so we can continue to be the little shop that inspires your needs and wants.Off and running………….where is that bottle of pink champagne?Hope to see you in 2012.

Ti’s the season to give.Be thoughtful, think of those you see weekly or daily who you don’t really know but yet they are part of your life.Like your mailman or that postal clerk who always greets you with a smile,or perhaps you get gas where they still fill your tank for you and the attendant knows you by sight but not by name.Or your DRYCLEANERS who unconditionally will always have that garment ready at your beck and call……………those are the people Iam talking about.Surprise them this year with a gift!Show them that you do care and appreciate them……………Believe me you will feel great and they will never forget YOU!This is the season to give………………JUST DO IT!I promise you will not regret it.Hairdressers,mailman,bank tellers,grocery clerks,all those people you see who know you by sight but perhaps not by name.Give them a gift………………they deserve it!
