“A HOUSE SHOULD BE A SELF-PORTRAIT,OR AN AUTOBIOGRAPHY.”
MICHAEL FORMICA
So, if that is true which I think it is what do you think of my home?Do you think it “looks” like me?I know it is NOT like any other home out there in BLOG land………….to much stuff, cluttered perhaps for some, too much color……………….I recently was speaking of doing an “EDIT” but you know what I CAN’T!It’s all good stuff that deserves a home. Most of it I have stumbled upon for very little money………….other things I have gotten for FREE!Like that pine cabinet in my kitchen holding the glasses! That was in a MACY’s store here in the BAY AREA and the new VP of merchandising got rid of all the old pine tables and cabinets they had used for display!Lucky for me I had a friend in DISPLAY who called and said,”GET DOWN HERE WITH YOUR TRUCK IMMEDIATELY THEY ARE PUTTING THESE PIECES IN THE GARBAGE!”Needless, to say I did as I was told!Three farmhouse old pine tables later and this amoire without its doors have found a safe haven here with me.

I am so lucky to have visited and slept in your beautiful home many times. Each time I walk in I think WOW! You have such beautiful things displayed in such creative ways. Your home is “eye candy” and I love it. The best thing about your home however is not the outward beauty, and all your friends will agree, is the warm welcome and focus on family. Isn’t that what a home is really supposed to be about? Family.
YOUR ABSOLUTELY RIGHT JAN!FAMILY………….xoxoxo
I concur with Jan! Your home is a testament to beauty and love of family! Family be it 2-legged, or 4,immediate, or befriended- are welcomed and loved and free to roam. Surrounded by the beauty that abounds in your home, one at first can not identify which is more pleasing – the decor, or the hospitality, then in a flash it comes-BOTH are delightful! I always leave inspired and with a happy heart. And La Contessa is truly at her leisure at home and in her garden! Comfortable, content, Bella Contessa!
XOXOXO………YOU AND YOUR WORDS!THANK ~ YOU!
Please don’t change a thing!
PROMISE!MAYBE ADD A PIECE HERE AND THERE…….HOWEVER!
I echo all of the above. Your home is a feast for the eyes…and all of the senses, especially when you and Giampiero are cooking! But, how did I never notice that beautiful rabbit pillow in your kitchen?!!! WHat I wouldn’t give for your flare.
YOU HAVE FLARE………………and that rabbit pillow was at the HEN HOUSE but quickly came HOME!
Your home is like entering another land ……Always something new, different and interesting to see ! And come to think of it , you are the same ……often outfitted in the most exotic of styles in one of your long velvet robes , and an array of shiny baubles …….Nothing boring going on here at all !!!
You have made me laugh!!!!!!THANK ~ YOU!
Boring isNOT in my vocabulary!

What everyone has said before me is true! I have enjoyed many laughs with the Contessa and her Giampiero and their delightful friends around the kitchen table set with the beautiful silver and glorious plates and glasses gazing out into the ever changing garden….a totally wonderful experience that is not forgotten and always treasured. I get so much pleasure from just being in the kitchen and which ever way I look there is something for the eye to behold. Wouldn’t we all love to be able to have a kitchen like yours! There is no one else that I know like you……definitely not boring!!
THANK YOU food stylist EXTORDINAIRE!You are too kind……….guess what I found today?Chocolate fairy floss! So, I have Pistachio and Chocolate………..will do something wonderful for the birthday!
How about chocolate meringues crushed and served as an ‘Eton Mess’ with raspberries or strawberries, which ever is in season, vanilla bean icecream and Cointreau whipped cream. Top with the chocolate fairy floss. Served in your stunning glassware!
